Things to expect during the procedure:
-When you arrive at the Clinic, you will fill out some paperwork regarding your medical history and medications (please bring a list of your current medications).
-After that, a topical 5% Lidocaine numbing cream is applied to the skin and will sit on for 20 minutes.
-During that time, we will go over your expectations and desires (preferred shape, colours, etc.) and we will discuss how to give you the most natural brows (consideration is taken regarding daily makeup routine, natural hair colour and future hair colour plans etc.)
-Once the numbing cream comes off, a brow mapping technique is used to create your brow design. This method uses your natural bone structure, your nose, your existing brow hair, and your eyes to shape a brow that looks the most natural for your face. Additional factors used are those previously discussed (hair colour, desired appearance, daily appearance).
-Once you approve the drawn-on design, we will begin.
Although you can expect to be in the Clinic for 3 hours, the actual time spent tattooing is minimal. Most of the appointment time is spent numbing and designing! Pain Level: This varies between each person. Some clients consider the procedure to be pain free (we have even had clients fall asleep during the procedure). Now, some clients find the procedure to be a little painful. This is rare, but it does happen. Overall though, the average pain rating is 1/10. *Typically, in our experience, those who find they need additional numbing at the dentist should expect a more painful PMU experience due to the numbing cream not working as effectively. After the procedure/Healing Process: -Once the procedure is complete, your brows will look perfect! You can feel free to continue your regular day. There should be minimal discomfort. Occasionally there is some redness, but its usually mild and will subside quickly. -Over the next couple of days, the brows will appear dark. This is normal. In response to the wound created, the skin will start to heal which will cause the brows to appear much darker than the end results will appear. This will last approximately 2-3 days. -Around day 4-10, the brows will appear to flake off in sections, causing that perfect shape we created to appear more blotchy and uneven, this is normal! -After that, they can even appear to disappear all together, this is also normal and is a part of the healing process. Your body creates a layer of skin over the wound and that new skin does not contain ink. Once that skin sheds off in a normal skin cycle, the skin below that contains the implanted ink will show through. -It is not until about 20-30 days after the initial procedure that you will see the shape you’re left with at this time. -Then, at around 6 weeks, you will come back for your second appointment where the shape will be finalized, and you will get your dream brows! *On rare occasions, a third appointment is necessary to finalize details, this is dependent on skin type and following the aftercare instructions. You will be provided aftercare balm as well as aftercare instructions. Following these instructions is extremely important for healing and your results will be compromised if they are not followed correctly. Please visit our aftercare blog if you would like to familiarise yourself with the process before your appointment!
